About The Sheriff

Sheriff Jim Davis is a law enforcement veteran with over thirty years of service. He is a graduate of Pulaski High School, New River Community College and Bluefield College. His educational background is in criminal justice and business management. Sheriff Davis began his career as a communications officer and has worked in uniformed patrol, criminal investigations, and administration. His law enforcement experience also includes The Virginia Department of Commerce and The Virginia State Police.

Sheriff Davis was appointed in 1997, and re-elected in 1999, 2003, and 2007. He currently is running for re-election this year for the 2012-2015 term.
