Communications
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office maintains a 24 hour Emergency 911 Communications Center. The communications officers receive all requests for law enforcement, fire and rescue for the County of Pulaski, Town of Dublin and the Virginia State Park Police (Claytor Lake and New River Trail).
On average, the Communications Center receives approximately 90,000 total incoming phone calls each year. Of this total, nearly 20,000 are either 911 wireless or 911 wire-line calls. In addition, over 31,000 incidents are created for fire, rescue, and police requests.
The Communications Center currently utilizes state of the art technology such as Computer Aided Dispatching, Geo Mapping, and enhanced call answering systems to ensure each call is answered in a efficient and effective manner. The center has 3 workstation positions with the capability of being expanded as the office grows.
