Pulaski County Sheriff's Office is a member of the New River Criminal Justice Training Academy located in Dublin, Virginia. Uncertified applicants who are selected will attend the 26 week Basic Law Enforcement Officer academy which is held twice a year.
Applicants should be in good physical shape and able to complete the physical demands of the academy. To prepare, applicants are encouraged to focus on improving their cardiovascular fitness through running, and build strength and endurance through exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, and other bodyweight exercises. A well-rounded fitness routine will help ensure a successful academy experience.
